Father, Guy Hanford Turrell (B A Coll. of the City of New York and Columbia Umv 1894, M D Columbia 1896), a physician in Smithtown Branch, son of John C and Anna (Hanford) Turrell of New York City Mother, Ella Virginia (Peek) Turrell, daughter of Henry Thomas and Cornelia Howard (Watson) Peek of New York City and Savannah, Ga* Smithtown Branch High School and Stony Brook (N.Y) School; B A Williams College 1931; attended Graduate School, Columbia University, 1931-32 and Yale School of Medicme 1932-36 (M D 1936, member Alpha Kappa Kappa), interne Norwegian Lutheran Deaconesses' Home and Hospital, Brooklyn, N Y., 1936-37 and resident surgeon 1937-38, practiced medicme and surgery in Smithtown Branch 1938-39, a founder (February, 1939) and president Smithtown Arts Group, an ornithologist he had been at work on a natural history of Smithtown, illustrated The Ancient Mariner (1935), member Medical Society of the State of New York and Smithtown Branch Presbytenan Church Marned June 1, 1935, m East Haddam, Conn , Dons Estelle, daughter of Warren Bruce and Lillian (Pinckney) Ayres Chddren. Loring Wayne and David Pinckney. Death due to pulmonary edema Buned in Smithtown Branch Cemetery Survived by wife, chddren, parents, two sisters, Miss Virginia Turrell (B A Wellesley 1927; M A Columbia 1930), and Miss Cornelia Turrell (B A Wellesley 1927, B.L A Umv. of Pennsylvania 1932), both of Smithtown Branch, and a brother, Guy Hanford Turrell, Jr. (Wdhams «c-'3o), of Malverne, N.Y.
