Mother, Bertha Lucreaa (Maher) Bnney; daughter of Darnel Samuel and Margaret Anne (Huber) Maher of Ellsworth, Wis. Horace Mann School, New York City, and Phdhps-Andover Scholar of the second rank Freshman and Sophomore years; high oration appomtment Jumor and Semor years; honors in Enghsh Semor year; Class crew squad Freshman year; member Phi Beta Kappa. Attended Columbia Umversity School of Law 1929-32 (LL B 1932); admitted to the bar 1934; m office of Lowe and Dougherty, New York City, 1933-35; associate in law firm of Spencer, Ordway & Wierum, New York City, 1935-39; trustee Brookhaven Free Library 1930-40; member St. Andrew's Church (Episcopal), Yonkers Unmarned. Died March 24,1941, in New York City Father, James Adolphus Willard of Chattanooga Stepfather, Frederick Richard Thorns, vice-president, treasurer, and director John Boyle & Company, New York City. Mother, Edna Cleveland (Ryals) Willard Mohegan Lake (N.Y.) and Taft schools Freshman Football Squad; Class football team Sophomore and Jumor years, member Umversity Club and Delta Kappa Epsdon Clerk Chisholm & Chapman, brokers, New York City, 1929-32, assistant manager F W. Woolworth Company, New York City, 1932- 34; salesman home insulation division Johns-Manvdle Sales Corporation, Mount Vernon, N.Y, 1937-38; secretary-treasurer Foley Heater Company, Inc., New York City, January-October, 1940, due to ill-health unoccupied 1934-37 z&& 1938-40; member Episcopal church.
