Died September 9,1940, in Montclair, NJ Father, David Alonzo Burnham, a farmer m Hamden, son of Wdham Albert and Adeline (Hoadley) Burnham of Bethany, Conn Mother, Emdy Grace (Downs) Burnham; daughter of Sheldon and Nancy (Hine) Downs of Woodbndge, Conn Hillhouse High School, New Haven Dynamic engineering course. Associated with Otis Elevator Company 1883-96 and 1909 until retirement 1926 (m charge engineering department at Yonkers, N.Y., 1884-96, designer special machines 1909-26); independendy engaged 1881-83, 1896-99, with Norwalk Iron Works Company, South Norwalk, Conn , 1899-1902, chief engmeer Secunty Elevator Safety Company, New York City, 1902-07, member Yale Engineering Association and Congregational church, Woodbndge.
