Father, Thomas Cardus, a Methodist minister in western New York. Mother, Jane (Tucker) Cardus, daughter of Baruch and Ann (Carter) Tucker of Allanburg, Ontano. Prepared at Rochester; B.A. Umversity of Rochester 1896 (member Alpha Delta Phi and Phi Beta Kappa); Pd B. and Pd.M. New York State College for Teachers 1897; studied law with Judge Safford E. North of Batavia, N Y., 1898-99; admitted to New York bar 1899 and Ohio bar 1925; attended Yale Graduate School 1900-01 (M A 1901); represented vanous busmess firms and was employed in abstract companies m Rochester and New York City 1890-1921; registrar and instructor Spencenan College, Cleveland, and instructor m contract law m evening classes John Huntington Polytechnic Institute 1921-35; secretary and registrar Lake Ene School of Law 1925-35 (awarded LL M ), retired m 1935 and had since resided m Rochester; author: Contract Law Outline; member Ohio and New York State Bar associations and Masomc order; attended Methodist church. Death due to artenosclerosis Buned m Forest Lawn Cemetery, Buffalo, N.Y. Survived by two sisters, the Misses Gertrude Blanche and Manan Ehzabeth Cardus, both of Rochester. Yetaro Kinosita, M.A. 1901. Born in 1873. Died April 2,1941, probably in Tokyo, Japan. Ph B Hiram College 1899; attended Yale Graduate School 1899-1900 (M.A 1901) and Columbia Umversity 1900-02 (Ph D. 1902); resided in Tokyo 1002-41; author: The Past and Present of Japanese Commerce (1902). Marned and had seven sons and two daughters. Death due to heart fadure. 222
