Bowdom i860, LL.B Harvard 1863), a lawyer in Strong, State senator 1883-86; son of Philip Morse and Juha A (Eastman) Stubbs of Strong. Mother, Juha Augusta (Goff) Stubbs, daughter of Dana and Abby S. (Baker) Goff of Auburn, Mame. B A. Bowdom 1909; attended Harvard Graduate School 1909-11 and Yale School of Forestry 1911-13 (M.F. 1913); with Vitale & Rothery, Mont Launer, P Q , 1913-14, consulting forester Augusta, Mame, 1915- 20, forester State Board of Assessors, Augusta, 1921-24 and 1925-27; forester and later assistant manager Axim (Gold Coast, Bntish West Afnca) branch Mengel Mahogany Logging Company, Louisville, Ky., 1924-25, supervisor southern section Mame Forestry Distnct 1927-41; member New England Section Society of Amencan Foresters and Old South Church (Congregational), Hallowell, Maine. Marned December 8, 1927, m Augusta, Manon, daughter of Newell Washburn and Flora Theresa (Brown) Bramerd Son* Robert Goff, Jr. Death due to pentomtis and pneumonia following an operation. Buned in Strong Cemetery Survived by wife, son, two sisters, Emma S. Peterson (Wellesley Coll ex-92), the wife of Oscar W Peterson (B.A. Bowdom 1906) of Pepperell, Mass, and Annie S Bell, the wife of Charles W Bell (M D Bowdom 1897) of Farmington, Mame, and two brothers, Philip Dana Stubbs (B A Bowdom 1895) and Richard Henry Stubbs (B A Bowdom 1898, M D. Harvard 1902), both of Augusta.
