Father, Samuel Colgate, president Colgate and Company, soap and perfume manufacturers, New York City; trustee Colgate Umversity; son of William and Mary (Gdbert) Colgate of New York City. Mother, Elizabeth Arm Breese (Morse) Colgate, daughter of Richard Cary Morse (B A 1812) and Sarah Louisa (Davis) Morse.
