United States Military Academy 1882), son of Edward Robbms and Catharine (Yale) Stevens of Saratoga Springs, N Y , and New Orleans, La Mother, Sarah Covell (Maffett) Stevens, daughter of Wilham Ross and Martha Washington Adeha (West) Maffett of Wilkes-Barre, Pa. Fay School and St Mark's School, Southboro, Mass, and pnvate tutor Class baseball team two years, member Society for the Study of Socialism, City Government Club, Delta Kappa Epsdon, and Ehhu. With Japan Paper Company, New York City and Boston, 1914-17; assistant to manager of export department The Stanley Works, hardware manufacturers, New York City, 1919-27, engaged m financing and mvestment secunties busmess, New York City, 1928-42 (successively with Campbell, Stenzel & Peterson, Inc, and Fredenc A. Hatch & Company, Inc), was interested m possibilities of using ratio charts to verify and clarify corporation stockholders' reports and earnings statements over long penods, and m 1930 pubhshed a limited edition of such charts compded from quarterly statements, covering thirty years, of New York City banks and trust companies; m 1931 compded "Atlas of Loose Leaf Maps of Certain Corporate Equities", jomed 7th Infantry, New York National Guard, 1914 and saw service on Mexican border 1916, attended Officers Training Camp, Plattsburg, commissioned Second Lieutenant, Infantry, July, 1917, promoted Captam August 15, 1917, assigned to 303d Machine Gun Battalion, 76th Division, Camp Devens, attended Machine Gun School, Infantry School of Arms, Fort Sill, March-May, 1918, mstructor and adjutant Machine Gun School at Machine Gun Training Center, Camp Hancock, Georgia, until discharge December 19, 1918, committee chairman Sea Scout Ship No. 50, Siwanoy Councd, Boy Scouts of Amenca, awarded Sdver Beaver; m recent years affiliated with Presbyterian church, Rye. Marned May 18, 1918, m Wilkes-Barre, Rosa Duncan Sharpe (B.A. Vassar 1916), daughter of Richard Sharpe, '75 S , and Margaret Wickhffe (Johnston) Sharpe and granddaughter of Wilham Preston Johnston, '52.
