Unmarned Ensign Waldmann was killed in an airplane crash at Jacksonville Buned m The National Cemetery, Arlington. Survived by parents and a brother, Charles John Waldmann, Jr. (New York Umv ^-'44, U S N R ), of Manhasset Morgan Wesson, B.A. 1941. Bom December 19, 1918, in Longmeadow, Mass. Died November 13, 1942, in the Battle of Guadalcanal Father, Lieut Col. Victor Hawes Wesson of Longmeadow and Palmer, Mass, son of Joseph Hawes and Florence May (Stebbms) Wesson of Spnngfield, Mass. Mother, Eleanor Morgan (Williams) Wesson, daughter of Howard Sherman and Minnie Stearns (Morgan) Williams of Longmeadow Deerfield (Mass ) Academy. Manager Freshman Lacrosse Team Jumor year and Umversity Lacrosse Team Semor year, Freshman Glee Club, an editor Yak Record Semor year, member Yale Umversity Dramatic Association, N.R O T C at Yale, and Davenport College Commissioned Ensign, U.S Naval Reserve, June 17, 1941, reported to U S Naval Academy, Annapolis, for active duty under instruction m communications August 19, 1941, detached to Federal Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Company, Kearny, NJ, for duty m connection with fitting out U S S Atlanta (reported December 29, 1941) and on board when placed m commission, appointed Lieutenant (j g.) June 15, 1942; served on U S S Atlanta as coding officer and ship's secretary, member St. Andrew's Church (Episcopal), Longmeadow Unmarried Lieutenant Wesson was killed m action in the Battle of Guadalcanal Survived by parents, a sister, Florence W Nields (Mount Holyoke Coll ^^-'43), the wife of Robert Littleton Nields (Wdhams Coll ^-'37) of Hardwick, Mass, and two brothers, Rufus Wesson, '36 E (Major, A U S ), and Darnel Baird Wesson (Amherst £^-'40) of Spnngfield.
