Born December 26, 1875, tn New Haven, Conn Died May 26, 1943, tn Westbrook, Conn Father, Patnck McDermott of Ireland and New Haven, a horseshoer m New Haven Mother, Ann (Bierne) McDermott Hillhouse High School, New Haven, attended Yale School of Medicme 1895-98 (M D 1898), interne St Vincent's Hospital, New York City, 1898-99, physician and surgeon m New Haven 1899-1929 and New York City 1929 until retirement 1936, surgeon St Elizabeth's Hospital, New York City; resided m Westbrook smce retirement; commissioned Captam, Medical Corps, October 10, 1918, chief of surgical department Base Hospital, Camp Meade, until discharge January 17, 1919, fellow Amencan College of Surgeons; member New Haven Medical Association, New Haven County Medical Association, Connecticut State Medical Society, Amencan Medical Association, and Cathohc church Marned (1) October 10, 1906, in New Haven, Rosella Josephine, daughter of Martin Walsh Chddren Mary Manoora (B A Bryn Mawr 1929), the wife of John F Roche, and Walsh (BA Princeton 1930, MD Columbia 1934). Mrs McDermott died m July, 1932 Marned (2) November 17, 1932, m New York City, Martha Josephine, daughter of George Fredenck and Augusta Stephen (Kuss) Selcke Death due to cerebral hemorrhage Buned in Cypress Cemetery, Westbrook. Survived by wife, children, one grandson, and a sister, Mrs Mary M Cogan of New York City James Pullman, M.D. 1899. Bom December 3, 1874, in Birmingham, Conn.
