Bom September 6, 1857, in New Orleans, La Died February 15, 1943, in Berkeley, Cahf Father, Edward Booth, a wholesale hat merchant in New Orleans, member city councd; State assemblyman and State senator, son of George and Rachel (Greenhalch) Booth of Bolton, England, and Newark, N J Mother, Helena (Hallaran) Booth, daughter of Nicholas and Rebecca (Donaldson) Hallaran of New Orleans Yale relatives mclude two brothers, Edward H Booth, ex-'80 S., and James P Booth, ex-*87. New Orleans High School, B A Emory and Henry College 1876 (member Kappa Sigma); attended Yale School of Law 1876-78 (LLB 1878, honors Junior and Semor years; Jewell Prize Semor year), admitted to the bar 1878, lawyer in San Francisco 1878 until retirement 1937, with exception of a year spent m practice m Oakland following the San Francisco earthquake, specialized m patent and trade-mark cases; member Booth & Booth 1916-43 Marned October 6, 1881, m Oakland, Emdie, daughter of Edward Gibbons (M.D. New York Umv. 1842) and Catherme Forrester (Barr) Gibbons Son Wilham Forrester (B A Umv of California 1913). Mrs Booth died May 31, 1933. Buned in Mountain View Cemetery, Oakland. Survived by son Friend Wilham Smith, LL.B. 1882.
