Admitted to the bar 1890 but never practiced law; engaged in management of family real estate and trusts until retirement 1935, covered special assignments for various Connecticut newspapers and for several years wrote a tn-weekly column under nom de plume Cy Pnngle; author Champion Genealogy (1891), Hoadley Genealogy (1894), Ashley Genealogy (1896), and Trowbridge Genealogy (1908); contributed to various genealogical books and magazines; trustee Grove Street Cemetery, New Haven; life member New Haven Colony Historical Society and New England Historic-Genealogical Society; member Class reunion committees, Yale Library Associates, Society of the Cincinnati, Sons of the American Revolution, and Center Church (Congregational), New Haven (on committee to celebrate 300th anniversary of the church). Married June 30, 1898, in Brooklyn, N Y, Mabel Christine, daughter of James Augustus Nelson, ^-'73 S., and Helen Josephine (Chipman) Nelson. No children. Mrs. Trowbridge died July 30, 1922. Death due to cerebral hemorrhage. Buried in Grove Street Cemetery Survived by no immediate relatives. Mr. Trowbridge established in 1937 a fund for the benefit of the University Library in memory of his great-uncle, E. Champion Bacon, B A 1833. In 1943 he gave the Memorabilia Fund to maintain his gifts to the Yale Memorabilia Collection and for general purposes of the Library
