No children Mrs Talmage died May 31, 1943 Death due to cirrhosis of the liver. Buried in Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn. Survived by no immediate relatives. William Mills Wheeler, B.A. 1895. Born October 4, i$j2%in Stratford, Conn. Died April 29, 1944, in Bridgeport, Conn. Father, Wilham Ezra Wheeler, a merchant and manufacturer in Stratford, son of Samuel William and Elizabeth (Wakelee) Wheeler of Stratford. Mother, Sarah (Tomlinson) Wheeler, daughter of Gideon and Abigail (Wells) Tomlinson of Stratford. Bridgeport High School. First colloquy appointment Junior year; third dispute appointment and one-year honors in political science and law Senior year Tutor in Fort Edward, NY., 1895-96, instructor at Mt. Pleasant Military Academy, Ossining, N.Y, 1897-1900; unoccupied 1900-03 because of ill-health; teacher Cheltenham Military Academy, Ogontz, Pa., 1903-05, Brown School, Providence, R.1, 1905-06, and Staten Island Academy, West Brighton, N Y, 1906-07; associated with Weed Chain Tire Grip Company 1907-17 (became sales manager m 1911) and secretary and director of its successor, American Chain & Cable Company, Inc., Bridgeport, 1917-44; vice-president Bridgeport Rotary Club 1936-37; chairman Chain Institute, Inc , trustee United Congregational Church, Bridgeport, 1927-38 Married June 27,1908, in Meriden, Conn , Ida May Furniss (special student Umv Chicago 1897-1902), daughter of Edward and Mary Ann (Davis) Furniss. Children. Elizabeth (Smith Coll. ex-31), the wife of Ernest Hyde Cady, Jr ; Mary Louise, the wife of Frank C Hunt, Jr., ex- '35 S , and Edward Furniss, '37 Death due to arteriosclerotic heart disease.
