Father, John Hart Pierce Chapin of Somers, Conn ; superintendent of buildings and grounds Mount Holyoke College, son of Oliver and Anne (Pierce) Chapin of South Hadley. Mother, Charlotte Louise (Grover) Chapin; daughter of Lester Kibbe and Hannah (Alden) Grover of Somers Giles Private School, Spnngfield, Mass. Civil engineering course, president Sheff Telegraph Company Senior year; Commencement speaker; member Alpha Chi, and Vernon Hall and Phi Gamma Delta.
