Married August 16,1882, in Springfield, Mary Janette Alexander (grad. Mount Holyoke Coll. 1879), daughter of George and Mary (Laflin) Alexander Children: William Alexander (died March 12,1888), Lester Grover (BArch Cornell 1908), Stanley Wallace, and Harry Alexander (M.E. Cornell 1915). Death due to arteriosclerotic heart disease. Survived by wife, three sons, five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild Frank McAlpine Collin, Ph.B. 1880. Born September 17, 1859, in Benton Center, N.Y. Died January 1, 1944, in Penn Yan, N.Y. Father, Henry Clark Colhn, a farmer in Benton; son of Henry and Nancy (McAlpine) Colhn of Benton. Mother, Maria Louise (Park) Colhn, daughter of Avery and Betsey (Meech) Park of Preston, Conn., and Burlington, N Y. Yale relatives include: Henry P. Collin, '65, Charles A Collin, '66y Frederick Colhn, '71, George Collin, '75, and William W. Collin, '77 (brothers); William H. Welch, '70, and Roswell Park (LL D. 1902) (cousins), William W. Colhn, Jr., '07, and Frederick C. Crosby, '12 S (nephews); and William Welch Collin, 3d (Class of 1945) (grand- nephew) . Geneva (N Y ) High School. Select course; German prize Senior year and Commencement speaker, Class supper committee Freshman year; Class Triennial Committee; member Franklin Hall and Theta Xi Manager of a farm of about 900 acres in the Town of Benton, Yates County, NY., 1885-1904 and owner 1905-43, supervisor Town of Benton 1905-11; represented Yates County in New York Assembly 1911; member Benton Cooperative and Board of Visitors Willard State Hospital, elder First Presbyterian Church, Penn Yan, 1900-43. Married June 25, 1884, in Jerusalem, NY , Margaret Elizabeth, daughter of John Johnson and Sarah (Beaumont) Durry. Children: Henry Beaumont (BA Cornell 1907; Cornell Law School 1907-08); Mane Louise, the widow of Hiram Albert Gardner (Syracuse Univ. t?#-'ii); George Franklin, Margaret Elizabeth, the wife of Arthur King Bennett (MD. Umv Michigan 1904); Charles Frederick; and Frank McAlpine, Jr (died in infancy). Mrs Colhn died February 25, 1940.
