Father, Milton Ham, a farmer in Washington; son of Conrad and Elizabeth (Haight) Ham of Washington. Mother, Phoebe (Ferris) Ham, daughter of Peleg and Sarah (Sweet) Ferris of Pawling, N.Y. Yale relatives include a nephew, Donald S Tutde, '12 S. Seymour Smith's Academy, Pine Plains, NY., and Phillips-Andover. Civil engineering course, Class historian Senior year Engaged in engineering in Connecticut and New York 1887-92 and in southern and western United States and Mexico 1892-93; member Ham & Tutde [Howard B., '87 S.], civil engineers, Naugatuck, 1893-1903; practiced independendy 1903-24; secretary and general manager Naugatuck Water Company 1924-32, president and treasurer 1932-44; engineer Borough of Naugatuck 1893-1912 and tree warden 1904-12; inspector summer resorts, Connecticut State Board of Health, 1902-04 and sanitary inspector State of Connecticut 1904-12; secretary Class of '87 S. from 1937 to 1940; member Collectors Club of New York, Yale Engineering Association, Connecticut Society of Civil Engineers, and Congregational church, Naugatuck. Married June 9, 1892, in Naugatuck, Grace, daughter of Samuel Zera and Minerva A. (Manchester) Seymour. Children Conrad Seymour, '17 S , and Margaret Seymour (died in infancy) Mrs. Ham died November 15, 1933. Death due to arteriosclerosis. Buried in Grove Cemetery, Naugatuck Survived by son. Charles Eugene Phillips, Ph.B. 1887. Born July 21, 1865, in Yon\ers, N Y. Died September 29, 1943, in Columbus, Ohio. Father, James G. Phillips of Southington, Conn. Prepared at Lewis High School, Yonkers. Mechanical engineering course. Engaged in business in Indianapolis, Cincinnati, and Columbus until retirement about 1929. Unmarried. Death due to cardiac failure Buried in Quinnipiac Cemetery, Plantsville, Conn. Survived by no immediate relatives.
