Wallace University School, Nashville, and Southern Presbyterian University, Memphis, Tenn. Electrical engineering course; Class treasurer Senior year. Associated with General Electric Company 1897-1922 (in Schenectady 1897-1901, India, Burma, and The Straits Settlements 1901-04, assistant manager London office 1904-10 and manager 1910-22), managing director The British Thomson-Houston Company, Ltd (British affiliate of General Electric Company), London, 1922-44, managing director and deputy chairman Associated Electrical Industries, Ltd, 1929-44, deputy chairman Metropolitan-Vickers Electrical Company, Ltd., vice-president Yale Alumni Association of Great Britain and on executive committee, represented Yale University at opening of New Museum of Practical Geology and at celebration of centenary of Geological Survey of Great Britain 1935; member London committee, British War Relief Society, and First Presbyterian Church, Nashville.
