Death due to a brain tumor Buried in Femchff Mausoleum, Ardsley, N Y. Survived by parents. Arthur Pue Gorman, 2d, LL.B. 1941. Born January 16, 1917, in Baltimore, Md. Died May 28, 1944, on Bia\ Island, near New Guinea. Father, Douglas Gorman (C E. Princeton 1903), president Cumberland Coal Company, Baltimore, son of William Henry and Mary (Clark) Gorman of Annapolis and Baltimore. Mother, Shirley Maud Gwendolen (Nash) Gorman, daughter of Edmund Strudwick and Mathailde (Che- nault) Nash of Rye, NY. Yale relatives include a cousin, Edmund W. Nash, Jr., '39. Gilman Country School, Baltimore; B.A cum laude Princeton 1938 (president Ivy Club Senior year); attended Yale School of Law 1938-41 (LL B 1941, treasurer Corbey Court Senior year), admitted to Maryland bar 1941; member St Thomas' Church (Episcopal), Garrison, Md Married December 13, 1941, in Baltimore, Marjone Aylesford Armstrong, daughter of Alfred Patterson and Mar j one Aylesford (Armstrong) Pendleton Daughter. Gwendolen Nash. Commissioned Second Lieutenant, Army Air Forces, August 2, 1941; assigned to Observation Squadron and stationed at Harnsburg (Pa.) Airport August-October, 1941, Fort Bragg October-November, 1941, and Providence, R.I, December, 1941—May, 1942; attended Adjutant General's School, Fort Washington, June-August, 1942; with Observation Squadron stationed at Hyannis (Mass ) Airport August, 1942, 1st Ground Air Support at Mitch el Field, September-November, 1942, and Morris Field November-December, 1942; assigned to Intelligence, Heavy Bombardment Wing, Air Force, South Pacific Area, December 28, 1942, promoted First Lieutenant April 28, 1942, Captain January 14, 1943, and Major April 17, 1944. Major Gorman was killed when his plane crashed and burned during enemy action in the Biak offensive Survived by wife, daughter, parents, and four brothers, Douglas Gorman, Jr (B.A Princeton 1935), Edmund Nash Gorman (BA Princeton 1936), Ogden Chenault Gorman, and Kenneth Aubrey Gorman (Princeton Class of 1946), all of Stevenson, Md.
