Yale College ii died July 22,1924); and Laura May, the wife of Bert B. Meek Mrs Han- Ion died October 27, 1941. Death due to myocardial insufficiency. Ashes interred in Woodlawn Cemetery, Oakland, Calif Survived by two daughters, two sons, eight grandchildren, four sisters, Mary Ann H. Alvord, the widow of Samuel M. Alvord, '96, of Bolton, Conn, Mrs. Dallas Hall Piatt of Los Angeles, Miss Cassie L. O'Hanlon of Ocean Grove, and Miss Laura J Hanlon of Claremont, Calif, and a brother, Joseph Thornley O'Hanlon (B A Princeton 1899) of Boonville, Calif. Another brother, Thomas O'Hanlon, Jr., '89, died in 1923. Arthur Scranton, B.A. 1882. Born January 24, i860, in Scranton, Pa Died February 1, 1945, m Chilltwuc\, British Columbia, Canada. Father, Joseph Hand Scranton, founder of the town of Scranton, son of Jonathan and Roxanna (Crompton) Scranton. Mother, Cornelia (Walker) Scranton; daughter of William P. and Lucy (Adam) Walker Yale relatives include* William W Scranton, '65 (brother); Charles H. Doud, '97, William D. Scranton, '97 S., and J Hamilton Scranton, '98 (cousins); Worthington Scranton, '98 (nephew). Prepared at Phillips-Andover. Until 1912 lived abroad, for the most part in Germany, France, and Russia; for a time was manager of the Lackawanna Steel Company, Buffalo, N.Y., later lived in Slatington, Pa, and in Edmonton, Alberta, 1930-45. Married October 15, 1884, in St Albans, Vt, Mary Dumesnil, daughter of Emerson and Mary (Graham) Mcllvaine. Children: John Walworth and Marian (both deceased) Mrs. Scranton is no longer living. Death due to chronic myocarditis Ashes interred in Burnaby, British Columbia. Survived by no immediate relatives. Charles Winslow Burpee, BA. 1883. Born November 13, 1859, in Roc\ville, Conn Died May 13, 1945, in Hartford, Conn. Father, Thomas Francis Burpee, a woolen manufacturer in Rockville; Colonel 21 st Regiment Connecticut Volunteers during Civil War, son of Thomas and Betsey (Temple) Burpee. Mother, Adeline Minerva (Harwood) Burpee, daughter of Ebenezer and Minerva (Dimock) Harwood Yale relatives include: Lucien F Burpee, '79 (brother), Thomas D. Goodell, '77, and Edwin B. Goodell, '77 (cousins) Rockville High School. First prize in English composition first term
