Father, John Henry Hubbard, a lawyer in Litchfield; judge Connecticut Supreme Court, member United States House of Representatives 1863-67; son of Parley and Anna (Cathn) Hubbard of Salisbury, Conn. Mother, Abby Jane (Wells) Hubbard; daughter of Tomlinson and Electa (Smith) Wells of Litchfield. Yale relatives include: John T. Hubbard, '80, and Frank W. Hubbard, '88 (brothers); and Henry H. Wells, 'oo, (cousin). Litchfield School. Second colloquy appointment Senior year; secretary University Lacrosse Club Junior year; Class tennis club Senior year. Engaged in coal, iron, and hardware business Roxbury Station, Conn., 1885-87; bookkeeper First National Bank, Brewster, N.Y., 1887-90; treasurer Shepaug, Litchfield & Northern Railroad Company, Litchfield, 1890-99; associated with First National Bank, Litchfield, 1900 until retirement 1937 (bookkeeper 1900-10, cashier 1910-30, vice-president 1930- 33, and president 1933-37); treasurer Litchfield County 1909-42, Town of Litchfield 1910-26, and Litchfield County Farm Bureau 1910-45; secretary and treasurer Litchfield Electric Light and Power Company; secretary Litchfield Scientific Association; member Company F, 10th Separate Battalion, Connecticut Home Guard, April 18, 1917-Ianuary 17, 1919; vestryman St Michael's Church (Episcopal), Litchfield. Married May 9,1896, in Litchfield, Harriet Augusta, daughter of Charles Mclntyre and Augusta (Walker) Cooke Daughters: Miriam and Harriet Wells, the wife of George P. Spaar. Mrs. Hubbard died December 11, 1935. Death due to cerebral hemorrhage. Buried in New East Cemetery, Litchfield Survived by daughters.
