Studied Greek, Latin, and archeology at Columbia University 1895- 1900 (fellow in Latin 1896-97); engaged as private tutor in New York City 1897-99; instructor in Latin and Greek Chapin Collegiate School, New York City, 1899-1901 and Cascadilla School, Ithaca, NY., 1901 until retirement 1925; since retirement had resided in Geneva; member North Presbyterian Church, Geneva.
