Kentucky ^^-'44), daughter of Jess S. and Virginia Paul (Moremen) Lindsay. Called to active duty January 27, 1941; served as executive officer Battery F, 186th Field Artillery; Battery Commander, Madison Barracks, N Y, January-June, 1941, and Fort Ethan Allen, June, 1941-February, 1943; graduated from Graduate School of Fire, Fort Sill, December, 1941, and Command and General Staff School, Fort Leavenworth, April, 1943; promoted Captain August 26, 1941, and Major February 16, 1943; assigned to 71st Field Artillery Brigade, 13th Corps, 186th Field Artillery Group, Camp A P. Hill, April-June, 1943; sent overseas February, 1944; promoted Lieutenant Colonel, 20th Corps, Field Artillery, March 8,1944; awarded Bronze Star for operations in France during August-October, 1944. Lieutenant Colonel Marshall died of wounds received while on a reconnaissance mission in Germany. Buried at Breuma, Germany (to be transferred to U S Cemetery No. 1, Margraten, Holland). Survived by wife, parents, and maternal grandfather. Albert Sidney Burleson Negley, B.A. 1935. Born February 10,1913, in San Antonio, Texas. Died January 23, 1945, on a Japanese prison ship north of Formosa. Father, Richard V W. Negley, '09 S, president Negley & Company, manufacturers of paint products, San Antonio; son of William Negley (Cornell Umv ex-y^) and Susan Maria (Jones) Negley of San Antonio. Mother, Laura (Burleson) Negley (B A Umv Texas 1911); daughter of Albert Sidney Burleson (LLB. Univ. Texas 1884) and Adele (Steiner) Burleson of Austin, Texas Yale relatives include an uncle, W. Walter Negley, '17 S Phdhps-Exeter Scholar of the third rank Junior year; oration appointment Senior year; Freshman Tennis Team; University Tennis Squad Junior and Senior years; on Interfraternity Council Junior year; member Beta Theta Pi and Branford College (captain squash team Junior year). Attended University of Texas School of Law 1935-38 (LL.B. 1938); admitted to the bar 1938; associated with Brooks, Napier, Brown & Matthews, lawyers, San Antonio, 1938-40; junior office manager A. Soriano y Cia, Manila, 1940-41; member Texas Bar Association.
