Donald Macfarlane MacSporran, Class of 1945. Born Apnl 13, 1922, in Birmingham, Ala. Died October 4, 1944, in Casper, Wyo. Father, Rev. John Alexander MacSporran, DD (B A Queens Umv 1899), of Clifton Springs, NY,, a Presbyterian minister; chaplain Clifton Springs Sanatorium and Clinic. Mother, Elizabeth (Macfarlane) MacSporran. Orange (N.J.) High School and The Hill School, Pottstown, Pa. Entered Yale in September, 1941; Freshman Cross Country Track Team; member Calhoun College and Hillside Presbyterian Church, East Orange, N.J. Unmarried. Withdrew from college July 2, 1942, to enter U.S. Naval Air Corps; began training as naval aviation cadet at Chapel Hill, N C , August, 1942, at Olathe, Kans, November, 1942-January, 1943, honorably discharged January 17, 1943; inducted into Army of the United States March 11,1943, and assigned to Army Air Forces; trained at Fort Niagara, Miami Beach, Knoxville, Tenn., Santa Ana, Calif, and Deming, N Mex , March, 1943-July 1944; commissioned Lieutenant (bombardier) July 23, 1944, at Deming. Lieutenant MacSporran was killed when his plane failed to gain altitude on a take-off and crashed. Buried in Clifton Springs Cemetery Survived by parents, a sister, Mrs. Catherine MacSporran Rust of Montclair, N J, and two brothers, John S MacSporran, '40, and Lieut James A MacSporran, A.U.S. (B A. Princeton 1935; killed in action December 24, 1944). Lloyd Winston Pullen, Class of 1945. Born February 22,1923, in Kansas City, Mo. Died November 19, 1944, on the Western Front Father, Lloyd Winston Pullen (B.A. Univ. Wisconsin 1905, LLB. 1907), a banker and lawyer with Farm and Home Savings and Loan Association, Kansas City. Mother, Mary (Hunter) Pullen.
