Married October 18, 1902, in Kaukauna, Wis, Celeste Chamberlain (Umv Wisconsin <r#-'o2), daughter of John Hopkins and Mary Annette (Loope) Chamberlain Children Willard Zerbe (died October 8, 1939); Dudley Chamberlain (B S Umv Minnesota 1929, MA. 1933); Mary (B S. Umv Minnesota 1930), the wife of Martin John Forsmark (B S. Michigan Coll. Mining and Technology 1939); Celeste (B S. Univ. Minnesota 1930), the wife of Reyno Koski (B.S. St. Cloud Teachers Coll. 1940), Edwin (died January 29, 1911); and Franklin Gorgas (B.A. Umv. Minnesota 1941) Mrs. Bayliss died February 16, 1935. Death due to bronchopneumonia. Buried in Chisholm Cemetery. Survived by two daughters, two sons, three grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Lilian Bayliss Green of Washington, Conn, and a brother, Edwin Ruthven Bayliss of Ferndale, Mich. Henry Brewer, Ph.B. 1894. Born May 7, 1872, in New Haven, Conn. Died March 21, 1945, in Ishpeming, Mich. Father, William H. Brewer (Ph.B. 1852). Mother, Georgianna (Robinson) Brewer. Hillhouse High School, New Haven. Mechanical engineering course; honorable mention for excellence in mechanical drawing Freshman year; on triennial committee; member The Colony and Berzehus. Associated with Winchester Repeating Arms Company, New Haven, 1894 until retirement in 1930 (machinist apprentice 1894-97; introduced new models of high-power smokeless powder rifles in China 1897; in charge cartridge shop 1898-1915; vice-president 1915-30 and secretary 1919-30); vice-president Yale Alumni Association of New Haven 1915-20; treasurer Class of 1894 S. from 1933 to 1944; resided in Ishpeming from 1933; member American Society of Mechanical Engineers and Yale Engineering Association (on executive committee 1924-27 and membership and University affairs committees 1931-32). Married April 9,1912, in Ironwood, Mich., Hazel Gwynne, daughter of Richard and Julia (Davis) Mason No children. Death due to carcinoma. Ashes interred in Grove Street Cemetery, New Haven Survived by wife, a sister, Mrs. Nora B. Griswold of Belmont, Mass, and two brothers, Arthur Brewer, '97 S., and Carl Brewer, •o5.
