GRADUATE SCHOOL MASTERS OF ARTS Albert Sidney Reid, M.A. 1900. Born October 3, 1864, in Boise City, Idaho. Died September 22, 1944, in Des Moines, Iowa. Father, Samuel B. Reid, a farmer in North Carolma; also engaged in gold mining in the West. Mother, Mary Emma (Denny) Reid; daughter of Timothy D. Denny. Attended rural schools in Routt County, Colorado, Iowa State Teachers College, Cedar Falls, and Capitol City Commercial College, Des Moines; B A. Drake University 1896, M A 1897; graduate student in history and literature Yale University 1897-99 (M.A 1900); principal Pocahontas (Iowa) High School 1901-03 and of several other schools; instructor in history Baptist College, Des Moines, 1909-12; U.S Marshal, Des Moines, 1912-13; State Inspector of Foods for Iowa 1913-14; in 1914 became assistant examiner in office of State Superintendent of Public Instruction in Iowa but because of dl-health was forced to give up indoor work Unmarried. Death due to injuries received in an automobile accident. Buried in Graceland Cemetery, Knoxville, Iowa. Survived by a brother, Samuel Alexander Reid of Des Moines. Raymond McFarland, M.A. 1902. Born April 15, 1872, in Lamotne, Maine. Died September 6, 1944, m East Aurora, N.Y. Father, Daniel Young McFarland, a farmer in Lamoine, son of John Dean and Emma J (Young) McFarland of Lamoine Mother, Hannah Bragdon (Brooks) McFarland; daughter of George F. and Ehza (Whit- taker) Brooks of Lamoine. Bucksport (Maine) Seminary; B A Amherst College 1897 (member Phi Kappa Psi); teacher in Maine high schools 1897-99 and at Bucks- port Seminary 1899-1901; graduate student in history Yale University 1901-02 (M.A. 1902); teacher of history State Normal School, Casdeton, Vt., 1902-03; principal Leicester (Mass ) Academy 1903-08 and Ithaca (N.Y.)
