Daughter* Charlotte Krehbiel Death due to coronary thrombosis. Buned in Oak Grove Cemetery, Orland. Survived by wife, daughter, and two sisters, Mrs Gertrude Buck Kennedy of Bucksport and Miss Abbie May Buck of Orland. Warren Arthur Hanson, Ph.D. 1936. Born June 4,1887, in Lowell, Mass. Died April 19, 1945, in New London, Conn. Father, Ivory Mansell Hanson, chief engineer Talbot Mills, Billenca, Mass.; son of Samuel and Susan (Libby) Hanson of Biddeford, Maine. Mother, Annie Blanche (Clark) Hanson; daughter of William H. and Matilda (Hilyard) Clark of Eastport, Maine, Howe High School, Billenca, attended Harvard 1905-09 (B S 1909), instructor in chemistry, physics, and Spanish St Matthew's Military School, Burhngame, Calif., and attended Leland Stanford University 1909-10; principal Avon (Mass) High and Grammar schools 1910-11, teacher of mathematics and principal Nathan Hale Grammar School, New London, 1911-18, superintendent of schools, New London, 1918-45 (because of ill-health had been on leave of absence since December, 1944); registered in Yale Graduate School 1931-36 (PhD 1936); author. "School Plant Operation Costs" (1936); president New England Association of School Superintendents 1934; vice-president and director YMCA. and U.SO, New London; member Connecticut Association of Public Schools, Associated Charities, New London, and Masonic order, trustee First Baptist Church, New London.
