Married August 20, 1924, in Elkins, W.Va, Frances Virginia Wolfe (Otterbein Coll ^#-'24), daughter of Charles Abraham and Virginia Summerville (Cropp) Wolfe. Children* Barbara Anne and John Howard. Death due to Hodgkin's disease. Buried in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Pandora Survived by wife, children, two sisters, Mrs Reuben Schumacher and Miss Elizabeth Schutz, both of Pandora, and three brothers, Walter Schutz (BA. Otterbein Coll. 1921) of Freetown, Sierra Leone, West Africa, and Edward Schutz and Albert Schutz (Manchester Coll. 1920- 21), both of Pandora. William Durley Pardee, B.D. 1928. Born June 14,1898, in Waterbury, Conn. Died August 19,1944, in Orange, Conn. Father, Joseph Merritt Pardee, a farmer in Orange; district superintendent Southern New England Telephone Company; son of Merritt and Amanda Estler Francis Pardee of Orange. Mother, Dora (Durley) Pardee, daughter of William and Dorlesca (Taylor) Durley of Washington, Conn West Haven (Conn) High School; BA Dartmouth College 1925, attended Yale Divinity School 1926-28 (B D. 1928); educational secretary Connecticut Temperance Foundation 1928-38, superintendent Anti- Saloon League of New Jersey 1939-44; organizer and manager Orange Symphony Orchestra; member Masonic order and Church of Christ (Congregational), Milford, Conn. Married September 1, 1928, in West Haven, Catherine Eames (Mount Holyoke Coll ex-26), daughter of Edward Bray and Anna (Rapp) Eames and sister of Edward H Eames, '25 S. Sons* William Durley, Jr, Joseph Merritt, and Scott Edward. Death due to a brain tumor. Buried in Orange Cemetery Survived by wife, sons, and mother.
