Father, Otto Snyder (Harvard 1903-05; Cornell Univ. 1906-08), president New York Power & Light Corporation; vice-president Niagara-Hudson Power Company, Albany, N Y.; son of John and Margaret Ann (Kiniff) Snyder of St. Louis Mother, Margaret (Peabody) Snyder, daughter of Ellery and Harriet (Avery) Peabody of West Newton, Mass. Albany High School; B.A. Wesleyan University 1933 (member Alpha Chi Rho); attended Yale School of Law 1933-37 (LL B 1937); associated with Murphy, Aldnch, Guy & Brodenck, lawyers, Troy, N.Y., 1937-38; admitted to the bar 1938; with New York State Tax Department, Albany, 1938-40; in law department New York Power & Light Corporation 1940- 43 and secretary of the corporation 1943-44; member Unitarian church. Married April 12, 1940, in Schenectady, N.Y., Mary Elizabeth Wold (B.A. Oberhn Coll. 1936), daughter of Peter Irving Wold (B S Univ. Oregon 1901, E.E. 1903; Ph D. Cornell Univ. 1915) and Helen (Helff) Wold Daughters: Susan and Deborah A First Lieutenant, New York State Guard, 1943-44; inducted as private in Army of the United States March 1, 1944, assigned to Company C, 58th Infantry Replacement Training Battalion, Camp Wolters; sent overseas July, 1944, and served with Troop B, 87th Mechanized Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron, 7th Armored Division, Ninth Army; promoted corporal October, 1944. Corporal Snyder was instandy killed by enemy small-arms fire while on a volunteer scouting patrol. Buried in an Army cemetery in Holland. Posthumously awarded the Bronze Star Medal Survived by wife, daughters, parents, two brothers, Robert Peabody Snyder (B.A Amherst Coll. 1937) of Pordand, Maine, and Ellery P. Snyder, '41 S, and maternal grandfather. Waring Roberts, LL.B. 1940. Born March 18, 1915, in Yon\ers, N.Y. Died October 27, 1944, in Hawan. Father, Lewis Roberts (Williams Coll. <?x-'oo; Harvard tf*-'oi; Harvard Law School 1899-1900), wholesaler for G W. Alexander Hat Company, Reading, Pa ; son of Lewis and Grace (Waring) Roberts of Yonkers. Mother, Charlotte LeRoy (Glover) Roberts; daughter of Henry Sheaff and Harriet Dawson (Coleman) Glover of Fairfield, Conn
