Unmarried. Member St. Paul's Church (Episcopal), Fairfield. Enlisted U.S. Naval Reserve June 18, 1941; appointed aviation cadet November 13, 1941; primary flight training Floyd Bennett Field and Naval Air Station, Jacksonville, Fla.; received wings and commissioned Ensign June 19, 1942 (to rank from May 1, 1942); given further training at Lambert Field August, 1942-July, 1944, and Naval Training Station, St Simon Island, Ga„ July-September, 1944; promoted Lieutenant (j g ) May 1, 1943, and Lieutenant July 1, 1944; ordered to 14th Naval District, Naval Air Center, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, September 18, 1944; awarded American Defense Service Medal. Lieutenant Roberts was reported missing after his plane crashed October 27, 1944, in Hawaii His plane'was later found and identified, and the Navy Department has concluded that he died on that day Survived by mother (Mrs William Van Kirk), a sister, Harriet R. Fincke, the wife of John M. Fincke, ex-56 E., and a brother, Lewis Roberts (Lehigh Umv. ex-35) of Fairfield. McCormick Gerald Burrow, Jr., LL.B. 1941. Born December 17, 1916, in Tunica, Miss. Died May 22, 1945, in Tunica, Miss. Father, McCormick Gerald Burrow, president Planters Bank, Tunica; son of Walter and Eva (Crenshaw) Burrow of Arlington, Tenn. Mother, Lockie (Cumngham) Burrow; daughter of John and Bell (Batde) Cun- mgham of Arlington. Tunica High School; B.A Southwestern at Memphis, Tenn., 1938 (member Sigma Alpha Epsilon); attended University of Mississippi School of Law 1938-39 and Yale School of Law 1939-41 (LL.B. 1941); admitted to Tennessee bar 1941 and Mississippi bar 1942; associated with Bradley, Baldwin, All and White, lawyers, Birmingham, Ala., 1941- 42; on legal staff Office of Price Administration, Washington, 1942-43; lawyer in Tunica 1943-45; member Tunica Methodist Church. Unmarried. Death due to nephritis. Buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Tunica. Survived by parents, a sister, Martha B Holmes (Belhaven Coll. ex-'36), the wife of Henry DeVotie Holmes of Tunica, and paternal grandparents.
