Methodist Church. Married September 20, 1903, in Lodi, Emily Drinker, daughter of Frederick Colman (M.D. Cooper Medical Coll 1873) and Emily Whitfield (Sylvester) Colman. Children* Margaret (died June 8, 1912), Dorothy (died October 10, 1910), Edward Turner Colman (Umv Denver 1927-28), and Eleanore Catherine (Univ. Colorado 1926-28), the wife of Samuel Van Meter Rhoads. Death due to paralysis. Buried in Haxtun Cemetery. Survived by wife, one daughter, son, and four grandchildren. Clayton Dissinger Mell, M.F. 1905. Born November 25, 1875, in Wernersvtlle, Pa. Died February 28, 1945, tn Mertda, Mexico Parents, William Dover and Rebecca (Dissinger) Mell B A. Millersville (Pa.) State Teachers College 1896, ME. 1898; taught school 1897-1900; attended Franklin and Marshall College 1900-02 (B A. 1902) and Yale School of Forestry 1903-05 (MF. 1905); became assistant dendrologist, U.S. Forest Service, in 1905; pharmacognosist U.S. Bureau of Chemistry, New York City, 1912-15; engaged in importation of tropical woods in New York City until 1945 (with Charles H. Pearson, J. H Monteath Company 1924-28, and under firm name C. D. Mell); consultant, Board of Economic Warfare, Washington, D C , 1942; coauthor with his classmate Samuel J Record of Timbers of Tropical America (1924); wrote section on forests in Geological Survey of St Mary's County, Md. (1907); New York editor of Lumber; secretary Philippine Mahogany Association; member Society of American Foresters and German Reformed Church.
