Associated with Golden Bell Cleaners, Inc, 1940-41; member Temple Israel, Boston. Unmarried. Enlisted as cadet Army Air Forces, September 15, 1941; entered active service December 18, 1941; pre-flight training Maxwell Field, Montgomery, Ala ; received primary training at Camden, SC, basic training Shaw Field, Sumter, S.C, advanced flying Spence Field, Moultrie, Ga ; received wings and commissioned Second Lieutenant August 5, 1942; stationed in East Hartford, Conn , and in Providence, RI; sent to Mitchel Field, N Y., about October, 1942, member 60th Fighter Squadron. Lieutenant Cibel left New York for North Africa November 1, 1942, and was reported missing January 31, 1943 (In compliance with Section 5 of Public Law 490, as amended, the presumptive date of death was fixed as January 31, 1944 ) Survived by parents, two sisters, Sylvia Charlotte Cibel Gordon (B A. Smith Coll. 1932), the wife of Milton Gordon (LL.B. Boston Univ. 1930) of Newton Center, Mass, and Judith Cibel Gold (B.A. Radchffe Coll 1934), the wife of Herbert Arthur Gold (Harvard ex-2y) of Jersey City, N J , a brother, Irving James Cibel of Newton, and maternal grandmother. Robert Stuart Clark, B.A. 1940. Born October 31, 1917, in St. Paul, Minn. Missing tn action February 1, 1943, south of Savo Island. Presumptive date of death February 2, 1944 Father, Homer Pierce Clark (LL B. Univ. Minnesota 1894), chairman of the board West Publishing Company, law books, St Paul, and director Waldorf Paper Products Company; son of Charles Henry and Martha (Cowper) Clark of St Paul. Mother, Elizabeth (Dunsmoor) Clark; daughter of Frederick Alanson Dunsmoor (M.D. New York Univ. 1875) and Elizabeth (Turner) Dunsmoor of Minneapolis. St. Paul Academy, and The Choate School, Walhngford, Conn. Member Trumbull College and Alpha Sigma Phi. Unmarried Member House of Hope Church (Presbytenan), St. Paul. Enlisted as apprentice seaman, U.S Naval Reserve, September 17, 1940; training duty on U.S S. Arkansas October 28-November 22, appointed midshipman, U S.
