Waterbury High School; studied in office of Judge John W. Webster, LLB. 1844, Waterbury, and assistant librarian Silas-Bronson Library; attended Yale School of Law 1884-85 (LL.B. 1885); admitted to the bar 1885; lawyer in St. Paul 1885 until retirement 1943; president Urban Investment Company 1908-44; on City Charter Commission of St. Paul 1908- 10; member Minnesota Bar Association, New York Yale Club, University Club, and Immaculate Conception Church (Roman Catholic), Waterbury. Married May 2, 1892, in Lawrenceburg, Ind., Cora, daughter of William and Lucretia (Wright) Bainbndge. Children: John Bainbndge, '17; Richard Ingoldsby (died in July, 1918); Philip Wright (B.A. Cornell Univ. 1917); and Mary Lucretia, the wife of Brig. Gen. Walter Newell Hill, U.S.M.C. (Harvard 1900-03). Mrs Fitzpatnck died February 8, 1944. Death due to coronary thrombosis. Buried in Oaklawn Cemetery, St. Paul. Survived by daughter, two sons, eight grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Josephine F. Hamilton of New Haven, Conn., and Miss Alice T. Fitzpatrick of Waterbury. Charles King Holliday, LL.B. 1885. Born February 12, 1859, in Meadville, Pa. Died May 21, 1942, tn Sacramento, Calif. Father, Cyrus Kirtz Holhday (B.A Allegheny Coll. 1852, M.A. 1855), a promoter and first president Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad Company, a founder city of Topeka, Kans., and mayor three terms; president Merchants National Bank; vice-president Kansas Historical Society 1890, son of David and Mary (Kennedy) Holhday of Carlisle, Pa. Mother, Mary Dillon (Jones) Holhday; daughter of Nathaniel and Susan E. Jones of Meadville. Topeka High School; B.A. Washburn College 1883, M.A. 1885; attended Yale School of Law 1883-85 (LLB. 1885); admitted to the bar 1884; lawyer in Topeka until retirement in 1900; president Topeka Gas Company 1889; appointed secretary of American Legation in Venezuela J by President Cleveland in 1887 but declined post; a commissioner Chicago World's Fair 1893; on State Police Commission 1895, and Topeka Common Council; president Commercial Club of Topeka; resided in Sacramento for thirty years; member Masonic order. Married December 12, 1887, in Sacramento, Susan Jeanette, daughter of Edward Randolph and Mary Jane (Neville) Hamilton. Daughter: Elizabeth (Mrs. George Elhnwood Finnell; died August 12, 1930).
