Father, James Bidwell Scoville, a farmer in Montpeher; son of Eleazer and Abigail (Langdon) Scoville of Plymouth, Conn., and Montpeher. Mother, Mary (Foster) Scoville, daughter of Per ley and Nancy (Bean) Foster of Conway, N,H. Yale relatives include a cousin, Wilham L Scoville, '96 Montpeher High School. Member The Pundits Attended Berkeley Divinity School 1887— 90 (graduated 1890), ordained deacon in Episcopal church June 23, 1889, and priest July 8, 1890, rector St. James' Church, Westville, Conn, 1890-92; assistant minister to rector Trinity Church, New Haven, 1892-1906, acting rector 1906-8, rector 1908-35, rector emeritus 1935-47, elected clerical deputy to General Convention and supplemental deputy to Synod, first province, Episcopal Churches of Connecticut, 1919, and to standing committee of Diocese of Connecticut 1927; D D.
