Father, John Beach Solley, a merchant in Orange, N J ; son of Thomas and Martha Treat (Bradley) Solley of Bethel, Conn. Children: John Beach, 3d (Indiana Univ. 1939-40); Virginia Hamilton (BA. Smith 1941), the wife of Jean Malcolm de Sieyes (B.A. Dartmouth 1940; M.B.A. Harvard 1943); and Thomas Treat, '50. Dr. and Mrs. Solley were divorced in I93i- Death due to cerebral hemorrhage. Buried in Fairmount Cemetery, Newark. Survived by children, one grandchild, and a brother, Fred P. Solley, '88.
