234 Yale University Obituary Record ica (Larkin) Corroon, daughter of Hugh and Ehzabeth Larkin of Brooklyn Canterbury School, New Milford, Conn Entered Yale in October, 1937, member the Fence Club and Silhman College Member St Joseph's Church (Roman Catholic), Garden City, NY Unmarried Withdrew from college May 31, 1941, entered service June 20, 1941, as seaman (2d class) first Yale Naval Aviation Unit in Navy V-5 program and assigned to U S Naval Reserve Aviation Base, Floyd Bennett Field, became aviation cadet November 25,1941, stationed at Naval Air Station, Jacksonville, Fla , commissioned Ensign and received pilot's wings June 12, 1942, attached to training squadron 5-A, Pensacola, Fla , attended Photographic School, Sanford, Fla (commissioned Lieutenant fig] sPnng 1944)• nignt %hter pilot based at Naval Air Station, Charlestown, RI, until May, 1944 Lieutenant Corroon was reported missing May 18, 1944, while on a routine flight in the Cape Cod area (In compliance with Section 5 of Public Law 490, as amended, the presumptive date of death was fixed as May 19, 1945 ) Survived by parents, three sisters, Kathleen Corroon O'Shea (B S in Ed Fordham 1941), the wife of James Cornelius O'Shea (B A Holy Cross 1934, LL B Fordham 1937) of Rome, N Y, Man Corroon Stearns (Marymount Coll [NY] 1936-37), the wife of Douglas Burke Stearns (B A Williams 1938) of Garden Citv, Joan Patricia Corroon (Marymount Coll 1946-) of Garden City, and five brothers, Richard F Corroon, '35 (LL B Harvard 1938), Robert Francis Corroon (Williams 1940-42, B A Umv Arizona 1945) of Garden City, Lawrence F Corroon (Williams 1942-43, Georgetown Umv 1948) of Garden City, Thomas F Corroon (Georgetown Umv 1951) of Garden City, and Hugh Larkin Corroon (Pnncf 1951) of Garden City ROBERT WENTWORTH LUCEY B A I942 Bom April 2, 1920, in Upper Montclair, NJ Died August 14, 1944, in Columbus, Ohio Father, Edmund Ambrose Lucey (grad Lowell Textile Inst 1904), consulting engineer in Manchester, Conn, and New York City, son of John and Mary M (Clancy) Lucey of Natick, Mass Mother, Marjone Wentworth (Watkins) Lucey, daughter of Fielder Ernest and Catherine L (Lyman) Watkins of Manchester, and St Petersburg, Fla Manchester and St Petersburg High schools Oration appointment Senior year, University 150-pound Crew Squad Sophomore and Junior years, member Timothy Dwight College Attended Congregational church Unmarried Inducted as private, Army of the United States, June 20, 1942, stationed at Port of Embarkation, Boston, October, 1942-Au- gust, 1943; promoted private (1st class), corporal, and sergeant, attended Officer Candidate School, Transportation Corps, New Orleans, August-December, and commissioned Second Lieutenant December 1, 1943, stationed at Port of Embarkation, San Francisco, December, 1943-Apnl, 1944, transferred to Transportation Corps Depot, Fifth Corps Area, Columbus, April, 1944 Lieutenant Lucey was killed in an accidental fall Buried in East Cemetery, (Manchester Survived by father ALFRED BRUSH FORD CLASS OF I944 Bom November 27, 1921, in Grosse Pointe, Mich.
