Ashes interred in Walden Survived by daughter and a brother, Charles Belknap Bowden of Lykens, Pa FRANKLIN PIERCE LYNCH, bd. 1887 Born May 24,1859, Philadelphia, Pa.; died November 20, 1948, New York City BA Bucknell 1884; BD Yale 1887; MD New York University 1891, medical missionary American Baptist Foreign Missionary Society, Belgian Congo, 1893-1919; established first hospital for natives at Mu- kimvika and resident physician and surgeon (developed successful treatment for blackwater fever), lectured on Africa throughout the United States, life member The Explorers Club. Married in August 1893, Florence Kip Brewer Mrs Lynch is deceased Survived by no immediate relatives WILLIAM HENRY KLOSE, bd 1889 Born July 7, 1864, Penn's Creek, Pa , died May 31, 1949, Newton, NJ Father, Aaron Klose, a farmer m Mifflin- burg, Pa Mother, Sophia (Walter) Klose BA Roanoke 1886, MA 1891; BD. Yale 1889, ML University of Minnesota 1899, Ph D Pennsylvania College 1893 and State University of Iowa 1906, Congregational minister Belvue, Iowa, 1891, Monona, 1891-99, Lake Benton, Minn, 1899- 1900, Seymour, Wis, 1900-1901, Lakeview, 1901-3, Fayette, Iowa, 1903-4; instructor in German Washington University 1907-8; professor modern languages William and Vashti College 1908-9, associate professor modern languages Macalester College 1909-11, professor modern languages Trinity University 1911-14, acting professor modern languages Roanoke College 1914- 16, professor modern languages Leander Clark College 1917-18 and Penn College 1918-24 until retirement 1935, author Fact and Fancy and Whirling Leaves, contributed many poems to periodicals, honorary member Eugene Field Society, member Composers and Authors Association of America, Chaparral Poets, Avalon World Arts Academy, and First Congregational Church, Oskaloosa, Iowa Married February 12, 1891, in DeWitt, Iowa, Mae, daughter of John Francis and Drusilla Ann (Vanderberg) Homer. Buried in Oskaloosa (Iowa) Cemetery Survived by son HARVEY BARTLETT GREENE, b.d. 1891 Born September 21, 1864, Hatfield, Mass , died April 11, 1949, Lowell, Mass. Father, Rev. John Morton Greene, D D. (B A Amherst 1853, M A. 1856), a Congregational minister; son of Linus and Esther (Hawley) Green Mother, Louisa (Dickinson) Greene (grad Mount Holyoke Seminary 1857); daughter of Daniel and Tammy (Eastman) Dickinson. Colorado College 1885; Chicago Theological Seminary 1887-88, BD. Yale 1891; minister Congregational church Fairhaven, Mass., 1891-93, Hartford, Vt, 1893-95; owner Harvey B Greene, Inc, florists, Lowell, 1896 until retirement 1939, treasurer Lowell Board of Trade 1903-13 (president 1910-13); member Lowell Park Commission, Masonic order (chaplain William North Lodge [Lowell] fifty years), and Ehot Union Church (Congregational), Lowell Married July 23, 1891, in Lowell, Hannah Phillips, daughter of Samuel and Mary Jane (Davis) Kidder. Daughter: Charlotte (Mrs Herbert Wardwell Blaney). Mrs. Greene died 1934. Death due to arteriosclerosis. Buried in Lowell Cemetery. Survived by daughter, three grandchildren, and a sister, Miss Helen French Greene of Cambridge, Mass. FREDERICK BATES RICHARDS, b d. 1891. Born May 29, 1859, Enfield, Mass ; died January 1, 1949, Brookline, Mass. Father, Charles Richards, lawyer, and judge Franklin County (Mass) Court. Mother, Caroline (Clark) Richards.
