In February, 1710, 0. S. (1711, K S.), Charles Calvert, the third Lord Baltimore, petitioned the crown that the government of his province might be restored to him, but this was denied him, on account of his religious belief; nor was his application granted to have Col. John Corbet appointed governor. On the 20th of February, 1714, (1715, K S.), he died at Epsom, in the county of Surrey, England, at the advanced age of eighty-five. During King William's reign (in 1690), he had been outlawed for high treason in Ireland, a country he had never visited; but the king, upon proper representation, in 1691, ordered the act to be annulled. 1 London Public Record Office, Maryland, B.
