ANTI-REGISTRY LAW CONVENTION. 675 While a call was being prepared in Baltimore, requesting the people to meet in primary assemblies and elect delegates to a city convention which should appoint representatives to a State convention to meet in Baltimore on the 24th of January, 1866, the Conservative members of the Legislature issued the following call to the same effect:— "The citizens of Maryland opposed to the existing Registry Law and in favor of the repeal of the restrictions imposed by that act on the exercise of the elective franchise, are requested to assemble in primary meetings in their respective counties, and in the city of Baltimore, at an early day, to select delegates, equal in number to their representation in both branches of the Legislature, to represent them in the State Convention, called to meet in Baltimore City on the 24th instant.
