There are numerous other persons who follow occupations similar to that of the hemalee. Among these are sellers of " 'erk-soos," or infusion of licorice, mentioned in a former chapter. The " 'erk-soosee" (or seller of this beverage) generally carries a red earthen jar of the liquid on his left side, partly 'Eri-soosee.
