A satirical depiction of a machine which shaves six people in a line using a brush and razor which slide along a bar worked by a cogwheel turned by a man. In the lower left, a barber tends to a wig with curling tongs; a pile of hats along the lower design. A blunderbuss is used as powdering horn.
