Abstract: Two elderly ladies are seated facing each other, the one on the left extremely fat and the one on the right very thin. Both display the extravagantly tall hairstyles of the day, topped by ostrich plumes. They are each seated on a large cork which issues from a bottle beneath them, an allusion to the protruding "cork rumps" which support their skirts
