Abstract: George III, shown as a lion holding a sceptre and seated under a canopy, receives a deputation of ganders led by a fox (Charles Fox) and a muzzled bear (Lord North). The first of the ganders reads a petition requesting the dismissal of the elephant (William Pitt) who stands to the lion's left. On the right side of the throne, a bull (John Bull) with its head lowered, appears ready to attack the deputation. The text of "The ganders address" is etched below the image, together with the text of "The lion's answer" in which the King rejects the petition
