He holds in one hand a dark lantern, inscribed, "amor patriae," and in the other a bundle of matches "for the new Parliament." Sam House, dressed in his customary open shirt and ungartered stockings, wears a hat with an election favor signed, "Vaux." Hall has on his head a mortar with pestle instead of a hat.
