Binding: In modern dark red imitation leather binding.
Colophon: Colophon missing; ends abruptly with: "... fa-in shāʼa bāshara nafsuhu wa-in shāʼa fawwaḍa ilá ghayrih, wa-bi-hi qālat al-thalāthah, wa-la-hu anna al-jawāb thābit mustaḥiqq ʻalá al-khaṣm bi-lisānih ʻaynan li-annahu huwa al-maqdūr la-hu fī al-tawkīl, naqala hādhā al-ḥaqq ilá ghayrih ʻalá wajh lā yuʻribu min al-ḍarar li-ṣāḥib al-ḥaqq wa-huwa ḍarar shiddah ..."
In thick and large naskh/taʻlīq script, in black ink on white paper; headings, keywords and markings in red; many marginal notes; catchwords.
Incipit: "Bismillāh al-Raḥmān al-Raḥīm. Rabbi yassir wa-tammim bi-al-khayr. Hādhā Kitāb thābit fī bayān aḥkām al-buyūʻ wa-fī baʻḍ al-nusakh Kitāb al-bayʻ. Wa-al-aṣl an lā yujmaʻ al-bayʻ wa-lā yuthanná li-annahu maṣdar, fa-taʼawwla al-kathīr wa-al-qalīl, wa-alladhī yajmaʻuhu naẓaran ilá anwāʻ [al-anwāʻ] allatī taḥtahu. Wa-huwa fī al-lughah muṭlaq al-mubādalah, wa-fī al-sharʻ huwa, ay al-bayʻ, mubādalat al-māl bi-al-māl bi-al-tarāḍī, fa-in wujidat al-mubādalah bi-lā tarāḍin lā yakūnu bayʻan sharʻīyan ..."

البداية: "بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم. رب يسر وتمم بالخير. هذا كتاب ثابت في بيان أحكام البيوع وفي بعض النسخ كتاب البيع. والأصل أن لا يجمع البيع ولا يثنّى لأنه مصدر، فتأول الكثير والقليل، والذي يجمعه نظرًا إلى أنواع [الأنواع] التي تحته. وهو في اللغة مطلق المبادلة، وفي الشرع هو، أي البيع، مبادلة المال بالمال بالتراضي، فإن وجدت المبادلة بلا تراضٍ لا يكون بيعًا شرعيًا ..."
الخاتمة: الخاتمة مفقودة؛ ينتهي النص فجأةً بـِ: "... فإن شاء باشر نفسه وإن شاء فوّض إلى غيره، وبه قالت الثلاثة، وله أن الجواب ثابت مستحق على الخصم بلسانه عينًا لأنه هو المقدور له في التوكيل، نقل هذا الحق إلى غيره على وجه لا يعرب من الضرر لصاحب الحق وهو ضرر شدة ..."
