Abstract: A couple stand in their nightclothes in horror as they look on their bed which is in flames. An overturned table with a lit candle appears to be the cause of the fire, the other contents, a book, a rosary, a watch and chain, and spectacles are also on the floor. To the right is a dressing table with a mirror, scissors and comb; above, hangs a framed painting
