In front of him (left) is a table on which are his painting-materials: a sheaf of brushes in a pot, palette, charcoal-holder. On a large canvas a man with the head of a wolf stands wearing a sheepskin with the head on his head and shoulders. In his right hand is a firebrand, the left supports the long staff of a flag inscribed 'Watch Word Peace'. Above it hovers a dove with an olive branch. At his feet stands a snarling wolf, also in sheep's clothing. A mastiff standing beside the artist barks at the (painted) wolf.
