Incipit: "Fa-hādhihi Qiṣṣat al-Hindabād al-Ḥammāl maʻa Sindabād al-Baḥrī. Bismillāh al-Raḥmān al-Raḥīm, wa-bi-hi nastaʻīn ʻalá al-qawm al-kāfirīn. Wa-baʻd, Qad kāna bi-Baghdād fī ʻahd al-Khalīfah Hārūn al-Rashīd, rajul yuqāl la-hu al-Hindabād al-Ḥammāl, wa-annahu fī baʻḍ al-ayyām ḥāmil ḥimlan thaqīlan, wa-arāda bi-hi makān baʻīd, fa-adrakahu al-taʻab, wa-ḥamiya ʻalayhi al-ḥarr, wa-sāla ʻaraqahu, wa-qad ijtāz bi-zuqāq qad raqqa rasmuhu wa-ṭāba nasīmuhu, wa-arḍuhu marshūshah bi-al-māward, bi-rāʼiḥat al-ʻūd wa-al-nadd ..."

In good large naskh script, in black ink, on thick white paper; some leaves replaced; catchwords.
On folio 1a: Remnant of an unidentified previous manuscript and colophon, as follows: "... wāḥidat khiṭāb lahum [... ...], ilá an atāhum hādim al-ladhdhāt, wa-mufarriq al-jamāʻāt. Wa-hādhā mā intahá ilaynā min [khabarihim (?)] bi-al-tamām wa-al-kamāl, wa-naʻūdhu billāh min al-ziyādah wa-al-nuqṣān. Wa-al-ḥamdu lillāh Rabb al-ʻĀlamīn. ʻAlá yad aḍʻaf al-ʻibād wa-aḥwajihim ilá Rabbihi al-Karīm, al-Sayyid Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥājj Ibrāhīm, ghafara Allāh la-hu wa-li-wālidayhi, wa-liman qaraʼa la-hu al-Fātiḥah. Āmīn Yā Rabba al-ʻĀlamīn."
Text ends with: "... wa-istaqāma al-Sindabād al-Baḥrī fī ḥaẓẓ wa-surūr, wa-ghibṭah wa-ḥubūr ilā an atāhu [hādim] al-ladhdhāt, wa-mufarriq al-jamāʻāt, wa-mukharrib [al-quṣūr] wa-al-dūr, wa-muʻammir al-qubūr."
