Abstract: Outside a tavern called The Whirligig, Col. Tarleton brandishes his sword while making a boastful speech about his military exploits. Behind him stands the Prince of Wales, headless, but identifiable by the ostrich plumes which replace his features. Above the tavern door the figure of a prostitute serves as the sign of the house
