The bishop wears a mitre, a gown, and extravagantly large lawn sleeves; his left hand is raised deprecatingly, his right is behind his back as if to ward off the Chancellor's kick. Thurlow's arms are raised above his head; in his right hand is his hat. In the background (left) is a cathedral; a devil flying over it indicates that it is Lincoln. Beneath the design is engraved a dialogue between the two brothers: 'Græcari Nescio - Apage Thomas, Græcari non est Græci Loqui, sed est Epulari, Saturari, Expleri, Satiari, Helluari - Epulas quadrifariam vel Centifariam dispertire - In Capite, fortunisque hominum Te longe longeque honestiorum dominari - Ohe! Græcus Sum - Salve Græcule frater fraterrime - '."--British Museum online catalogue</dc:description><dc:description>Title derived from signpost in the top right of image.
