A perfect diurnall of the passages in Parliament.1642Beginning with issue no. 16 (Sept. 26-Oct. 3, 1642) all issues carry the note, "Collected by the same hand that formerly drew up the coppy for William Cooke of Furnalls Inne".Beginning with the issue for 26 Dec./Jan. 2, the factotum initial is a ship in full sail.Ceased with the issue for June 12/19, 1643, Numb. 53.Compiled (Oct. 10/17?- ) by Samuel Pecke, who had compiled a publication with the same title from Jan. to March, 1642, for William Cook, and had been associated with him during the summer of 1642. William Cook is recorded in the catalogue of the Thomason collection as having published a Perfect diurnall as late as the issue for Oct. 24/31 [1642]. The first issue of the diurnall here catalgoue which bears the words "compiled by the same hand that formerly drew up the copy for William Cook" is the issue for Oct. 10/17.Dec. 12-19, 1642 and Feb. 20-27, 1642 [i.e. 1643] issues lack enumeration; two issues for no. 23 (Nov. 13-20, 1642) printed; no. 29 (Dec. 26-Jan. 2, 1642) called no. 28; no. 33 (Jan. 23-30, 1642) called no. 30; two different editions of no. 34 (Jan. 30-Feb. 6, 1642 i.e. 1643]) issued; enumeration on no. 35 illegible.Forgeries: Sept. 26-Oct. 3, 1642 (E.240, no. 21) and March 6-13, 1642 [i.e. 1643] (E.246, no. 43).
