"An ugly old man wearing night-cap, dressing-gown, and slippers stands at an open window gazing up through a spy-glass at a comet shaped like a large shuttle-cock. Keys hang from his waist. Behind him (left) sits a pretty young woman, turning her head to look at the comet, but giving her right hand to a young man who kneels beside her, while she presses her foot on his. Binding: red morocco with his initials stamped in gold on the front cover in a shield with crossed swords and three floral stamps above and one below; also four floral stamps on spine with volume number and spine title in gold: The caricature magazine. Leather endpapers with his ex libris blind stamped on front flyleaf -- a boat with large sail, with a cutout in the shape of the sun in upper left. Myers; May 1942.
